Role – Design Engineer role Location – Norfolk Working hours – Monday to Friday – Full time hours Capacity of role – Permanent position Salary – Up to £36,000 per annum Our client is an established and reputable company who is looking to add to their team by recruiting for a Design Engineer to join their drawing office. Main duties will include – Develop and design innovative products, components, or systems using CAD & Solid Works software and engineering principles. Create detailed technical/manufacturing drawings, specifications, and documentation to support manufacturing and assembly. Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to validate design concepts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards Evaluate materials, processes, and manufacturing methods to optimize cost, efficiency, and sustainability. Troubleshoot design and production issues, providing timely solutions. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in design engineering. Candidate attributes - Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. Proven experience in product or mechanical design engineering. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA). Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with simulation tools and prototyping is a plus.
