Job Title: Garment Technologist / Sample Machinist Location: Barwell Job Type: Full-Time Pay: £12.71 - £14.00 Dependent on experience Hours: Monday – Friday start and finish times flexible (35hrs per week) About the Role We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Garment Technologist / Sample Machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, a passion for garment construction, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced fashion environment. Key Responsibilities: * Sewing first-fit garments and creating detailed specifications. * Continuously identifying ways to improve garment construction for production efficiency while maintaining a high-quality finish. * Managing priorities effectively to ensure all samples are completed on time. * Measuring samples and thoroughly checking fit before sending to fittings. * Ensuring sealed samples are accurate and production-ready. * Creating clear and comprehensive make-up sheets for production. Required Skills & Experience: * Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience within high street fashion. * Proficient in using lockstitch, overlock, and binding machines. * Experience working with a wide range of fabrics, from stretch materials to silk. * Strong understanding of fit, garment construction, and finishing techniques. * Thorough knowledge of the production process. * High attention to detail with a focus on quality. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. * Proactive, with the ability to use initiative and offer practical solutions. * Positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges. * Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
