Site Engineer

Site Engineer – Groundworks South West (Bristol / Gloucestershire region) £50,000 – £65,000 + Package Permanent I’m currently working with a well-established and growing groundworks contractor to recruit an experienced Site Engineer to join their operational team in the South West. This business has built a strong reputation for delivering full groundworks packages across a range of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare and infrastructure. With a consistent pipeline of secured work and long-standing client relationships, they are continuing to expand and invest in their site teams. The Role Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for the engineering delivery on a range of groundworks projects from initial setting out through to completion. You’ll be joining a contractor that self-delivers its projects with in-house teams, offering a high level of control, quality, and consistency across all stages of delivery. 🔧 Key Responsibilities * Setting out for groundworks, drainage, foundations and external works * Carrying out site surveys and producing as-built records * Interpreting drawings and technical specifications * Providing engineering support to site teams and management * Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and design * Managing QA processes and site documentation * Coordinating with subcontractors and site teams where required * Maintaining accurate records and reporting progress * Supporting health, safety and environmental standards on site What We’re Looking For Essential: * Proven experience as a Site Engineer within groundworks or civil engineering * Strong setting out experience across drainage, foundations and infrastructure * Competent using surveying equipment (GPS, Total Station) * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Full UK driving licence Desirable: * HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or similar * Experience across sectors such as commercial, education or healthcare * Knowledge of QA processes and as-built surveys * SMSTS / SSSTS (or working towards) What’s on Offer * £50,000 – £65,000 salary (depending on experience) * Company car or car allowance * Pension scheme * Holiday + benefits package * Long-term, stable work with a strong project pipeline * Clear progression opportunities within a growing contractor Interested?
