Resident Engineer - Chester

We’re hiring: Resident Engineer | Chester 🚨 Looking for a stable, site-based role where you can work independently and take full ownership of operations? This could be the perfect opportunity for you. We’re recruiting a skilled and self-motivated Resident Engineer to join a well-established team based in Chester. This is a permanent, full-time role ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a standalone position. 🔧 The Role You’ll be responsible for maintaining and managing all on-site engineering operations, ensuring systems are running efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant standards. ⚙️ What You’ll Be Doing • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across site • Managing day-to-day site operations as the sole on-site engineer • Fault finding and resolving mechanical and/or electrical issues • Ensuring all plant and equipment are compliant and operational • Liaising with mobile engineers and Technical Supervisors for additional support when required • Maintaining accurate service records and documentation • Upholding high standards of health & safety at all times 👷 What We’re Looking For • Multi-skilled engineer with either electrical or mechanical bias • Proven ability to work independently on a single-person site • Proactive, reliable, and highly self-motivated • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with wider teams • High standard of workmanship and attention to detail 💼 What’s On Offer • 💷 Up to £42,000 per annum • 🕗 Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (40 hours per week) • 🍽️ Paid lunch break (on-site presence required) • ⏱️ Overtime available: • 1.5x rate (evenings & Saturdays) • 2x rate (Sundays & Bank Holidays) • 🤝 Ongoing support from mobile engineers and supervisors • 🔒 Stable, long-term opportunity with a reputable organisation 📍 Location: Chester​​​​​​​ ℹ️ Additional Information • Single-engineer site – ideal for someone confident working autonomously • No on-site parking available (limited delivery area access may be arranged in advance) This is an excellent opportunity for a Resident Engineer looking for autonomy, stability, and the chance to take full ownership of a site within a supportive wider team
