Workshop Assistant Location: Southampton Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent Salary: £12.71ph About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established engineering and industrial services business based in Southampton. The company is seeking a reliable and proactive Workshop Assistant to support daily workshop operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in a hands-on technical environment. Full training will be provided. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing and assembling products in line with pick lists and works orders Supporting counter sales and responding to customer enquiries Assisting with stock takes and inventory control Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment Adhering to quality control and non‑conformance procedures at all times Following all company procedures and contributing ideas for continuous improvement Communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues, customers, and suppliers Carrying out additional tasks as directed by the Workshop Supervisor Requirements Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team High attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures Previous workshop or manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential Full training provided for the successful candidate Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 5:30pm Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm 40 hours per week with a 45‑minute lunch break
