Geotechnical Engineer Slough, Berkshire £38,000 - £48,000 An established and expanding engineering consultancy is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer with around 5 years' UK experience to join their Slough office. This is a great opportunity to step into a more design-focused role with increased responsibility and clear progression towards senior level. The Role You will play a key role in delivering geotechnical solutions across a range of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, taking ownership of projects from investigation through to design and reporting. Key responsibilities: Planning, supervising, and interpreting ground investigations Developing ground models and providing geotechnical recommendations Undertaking design work including shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, and slope stability Producing and reviewing factual and interpretative reports Carrying out geotechnical calculations in line with Eurocodes and UK standards Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their development Requirements Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline Approximately 4-6 years' UK experience in a geotechnical engineering role Strong understanding of ground investigation and geotechnical design principles Experience with relevant design software (e.g. PLAXIS, GeoStudio or similar) Excellent report writing and communication skills Full UK driving licence Desirable Working towards Chartership (ICE or Geological Society) Experience managing small to medium-sized projects What's on Offer Competitive salary and bonus scheme Hybrid/flexible working Clear progression to Senior Geotechnical Engineer Chartership support and ongoing professional development Pension and generous annual leave
