L&D Consultant (AI and Data)

Our client is seeking a highly experienced L&D Consultant (AI and Data) to support the early stages of a major organisational capability transformation within financial industry. This is a strategic, advisory-only role working closely with the Director of Organisational Capability to design a forward-thinking, enterprise-wide learning strategy focused on AI and data capability uplift across the organisation. This role will be instrumental in shaping how the organisation builds AI and data literacy, develops functional and technical learning pathways, and prepares its workforce for a rapidly evolving digital future.   What’s on Offer: Role type: Full-time, 3-month assignment (maternity cover) Start date: ASAP Hybrid working: 1–2 days per week in the office Pay Rate: £440 per day  Key Responsibilities: Design a comprehensive enterprise-wide AI and Data learning strategy aligned to organisational goals Develop a multi-tier capability framework (foundation, intermediate, advanced) across all job families Define learning pathways for generalist, functional, and technical audiences Establish success measures, KPIs, and capability uplift milestones Define organisation-wide AI and data literacy strategy, including responsible and ethical AI use Build on existing initiatives to create a scalable and structured learning approach Design targeted functional learning pathways across operations, HR, finance, digital, IT, and customer services Recommend blended learning approaches including in-role learning, simulations, and vendor-led programmes Develop strategy for technical upskilling and accreditation pathways, including apprenticeship levy opportunities Identify relevant certifications and structured learning routes for specialist roles Conduct future skills analysis and horizon scanning to identify emerging AI and data trends Advise on external partnerships with universities, vendors, and learning providers Engage and influence senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational strategy and transformation priorities  Skills, Experience, and Requirements: Essential: Extensive experience in L&D strategy, organisational development, or capability building at a senior level Proven experience designing enterprise-wide digital, data, or AI capability frameworks Strong understanding of AI fundamentals, data literacy, and responsible AI practices Experience building structured learning pathways and role-based capability models Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership level Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify complex technical conceptsDesirable: Experience with apprenticeship levy-funded programmes or accredited learning frameworks Exposure to public sector or regulated environments Experience working with external learning providers or academic institutions  Our Ideal Consultant: A strategic thinker with deep expertise in learning and capability transformation Confident operating at executive and board influence level Able to translate emerging AI and data trends into practical workforce strategies Highly analytical, structured, and outcomes-focused Strong storyteller with the ability to inspire and influence change Experienced in designing scalable, future-ready learning ecosystems  How to Apply: If you are an experienced L&D strategist with a passion for AI, data, and future skills development, we would love to hear from you.
