Job Title: Operations Manager Location North West England (site-based) Company Overview We are a UK-based specialist in the sourcing, processing, and distribution of premium timber products, supplying customers across construction, manufacturing, and joinery sectors. Role Overview The Operations Manager will lead all day-to-day site operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective management of production, warehousing, and distribution. This role is key to improving performance, supporting growth, and maintaining high service standards. Key Responsibilities * Oversee production, machining, warehousing, and dispatch operations * Ensure on-time delivery and efficient production scheduling * Manage stock control, supply coordination, and material yield * Lead logistics and transport performance * Maintain health & safety compliance and promote best practice * Manage, develop, and motivate operational teams * Monitor KPIs, control costs, and drive continuous improvement Skills & Experience Essential * Experience in operations or production management * Background in manufacturing or industrial environments * Strong leadership and organisational skills * Knowledge of warehouse and logistics operations * Understanding of health & safety requirements Desirable * Timber or materials processing experience * ERP/WMS system knowledge * Lean or continuous improvement experience Key Measures of Success * On-time delivery * Operational efficiency and output * Stock accuracy * Health & safety performance * Cost control
