Your new company You will be working on a major UK nuclear infrastructure project delivered by a leading Tier 1 contractor. The programme operates under stringent Nuclear Licence Conditions and regulated safety frameworks, requiring the highest standards of governance, assurance and electrical safety leadership. Your new role As Electrical Authorised Person (AP(E)), you will take overarching responsibility for managing and coordinating electrical safety across the project in line with approved procedures. You will provide day‑to‑day leadership, governance and assurance to ensure compliance with Nuclear Licence Conditions, QMS and project delivery requirements.The role involves close liaison with engineering, construction, quality, commissioning teams and the client, alongside active management and auditing of contractors and authorised persons. You will coordinate isolations, energisations, permits, and electrical safety documentation, supporting a safe transition from construction through commissioning and start‑up.You will also train, assess, appoint and audit AP(E)s, maintain registers, review and approve SSoW, energisation requests and contractor documentation, and support the operation of the M&E Permit Office for live electrical activities. What you'll need to succeed British Citizen (security requirement) Active or eligible SC clearance (DV desirable) Proven nuclear experience working under Nuclear Licence Conditions Time‑served Electrical Technician or Electrical Engineer with strong site experience 17th / 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations Electrical testing qualifications (2391 or 2394 & 2395) AP(E) training and strong experience operating as an AP(E) SMSTS or equivalent CDM training Full First Aid including resuscitation Strong knowledge of HSAWA, EAWR, CDM, SSoW and safety cases Experience on large‑scale construction and commissioning projects Experience working with M&E Permit Offices and managing contractors Excellent communication skills with the ability to chair meetings and influence outcomesWhat you'll get in return Rate: TBC Inside IR35 Long‑term contract on a flagship UK nuclear project Opportunity to work in a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment Exposure to complex electrical systems within a major infrastructure programmeWhat you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
