Responsibilities Include: * Lead mechanical design of subsystems, ensuring alignment with overall product requirements and delivery timelines * Own the definition and evolution of wing geometry, balancing aerodynamic performance, structural integrity, and manufacturability * Develop and manage a database of load cases across classification societies and realworld conditions, translating these into design requirements * Define structural design philosophy and ensure compliance with classification society requirements (DNV, LR, NK, etc.) * Perform and oversee structural analysis to verify designs against requirements, including development of in-house analysis capability and methods * Build and continuously improve internal structural analysis tools, ensuring alignment with real-world performance and validation data * Lead technical engagement with classification societies for structural aspects, supporting timely approval * Act as the technical authority for stress and fatigue analysis within the team, supporting system-level decisions led by the Chief Engineer * Support and review work from junior engineers where appropriate. * Champion professional standards of engineering integrity, safety, and sustainability within the team. * Responsibilities may temporarily include supporting other areas of the business as necessary to achieve critical milestones. Required Experience * Degree Qualified (Naval/Mechanical/Structural/Marine) * 5-10 years experience designing marine structures approved by classification societies. * Proficiency in Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent 3D CAD). * Strong experience in structural analysis (FEA and hand calculations) in a real-world engineering context * Proven experience translating load cases into design requirements and validated structures * Experience working directly with classification societies and driving technical approval * Comfortable working in highly dynamic environments with significant accountability
