Management Accountant Castle Donington Permanent Office based Mon – Fri (1pm finish on a Friday) £40k - £42k My client is part of a group, acquired in 2019. They are a manufacturing group serving highly regulated sectors within engineering and specialist industrial markets. The business operates to rigorous quality standards, reflecting the critical nature of its customer base and products. The Role This is a hands-on Management Accountant role working closely with senior management to analyse and report on business performance, supporting decision‑making and driving operational improvements. You’ll take ownership of monthly management accounts, payroll processing, and detailed cost analysis in a manufacturing environment with stock and WIP considerations. You’ll be working alongside a Senior Finance Assistant (approx. 20 years with the business) reporting into the Head of Finance / Managing Director both based within group in the north The previous Management Accountant was in post for around 6 years, highlighting the stability of the role and business. Key Responsibilities Preparation of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations Detailed variance analysis on job performance vs budgeted costs Stock and WIP valuation General ledger maintenance and cost coding Payroll administration (including Sage 50): Timesheets, sickness, overtime, deductions, reconciliations Statutory reporting to HMRC Pension administration Monitoring sickness absence and statutory/company sick pay Supporting the Head of Finance with ad-hoc reporting and analysisCandidate Profile Qualified, QBE    or part‑qualified – study support considered if desired Manufacturing experience essential Confident with Excel and financial data manipulation Experience with Sage Payroll essential; Avante or Epicor 10 beneficial Detail‑driven, organised, and resilient Comfortable working closely with operational and senior stakeholdersPackage & Benefits £40,000 – £42,000 base salary (with flexibility to go slightly above for the right person) Full‑time 39 hours or part‑time 30 hours considered 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays Company pension contributions Healthcare scheme Cherry Professional are recruiting for this opportunity on behalf of our client.
