Legionella Tester

Job Title: Legionella Water Hygiene Technician (Contract) Location: Two sites near Newport, Wales Contract Type: Contract (4 days per week) Overview: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Legionella Water Hygiene Technician to support monitoring and compliance activities across two sites near Newport, Wales. This is a contract role offering a consistent 4-day working week, ideal for a professional with a strong background in water hygiene and Legionella control. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct routine Legionella risk monitoring in accordance with current regulations and guidelines (e.g., ACOP L8, HSG274) * Temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems * Collection of water samples for laboratory analysis * Flushing of outlets and infrequently used water systems * Inspection and maintenance of water storage tanks and associated systems * Record keeping and accurate completion of logbooks and compliance documentation * Identify and report any risks, non-conformities, or remedial actions required * Liaise with site representatives and management teams as needed Requirements: * Previous experience in Legionella control or water hygiene services * Good understanding of UK compliance standards (ACOP L8, HSG274) * Ability to work independently across multiple sites * Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills * Full UK driving licence (preferred due to travel between sites) Working Pattern: * 4 days per week (flexible scheduling may be considered) * Work split across two sites in the Newport area
