Stores Team Leader

Stores Team Leader (Temp to Perm) Location: On-site Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (38 hours) Salary: £30,000 (depending on experience) About the Role Select Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company for a Stores Team Leader to join the Operations team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for ensuring the Stores function runs efficiently, safely, and in line with production requirements. You will lead a team of stores operatives, supporting day-to-day activity while ensuring high standards of accuracy, stock control, and system compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead, support, and supervise the Stores team to achieve daily operational targets Ensure accurate and timely picking, goods receipt, and distribution of materials to production Maintain high levels of stock accuracy through cycle counting and disciplined inventory control Oversee ERP transactions and ensure full compliance with scanning and traceability processes Act as first point of contact for operational queries and prioritisation of work Maintain housekeeping, audit readiness, and operational standards within the Stores area Promote and enforce safe working practices in line with EHS requirements Support continuous improvement activity across Stores operations Ensure effective use of automated storage systems (VLM) Key Requirements Essential: Experience in a warehouse, stores, or materials handling environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment Good communication and team leadership skills Full UK driving licence Desirable: Experience with ERP systems and hand-held scanning devices FLT licence Supervisory or team leader experience Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience Hours and Benefits 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday Working hours between 08:00–18:00 (to be agreed with line manager) Early Friday finish currently in place, subject to workload Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term progression potential Please apply if you have relevant experience in a warehouse, stores, or materials handling environment and are looking for a leadership role within a fast-paced manufacturing setting
