Job Title: Town Planner Location: Tunbridge Wells Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well established architectural and planning practice in their search for a Town Planner to join their team in Tunbridge Wells. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Town Planner to join a design-led consultancy, working closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams on a variety of residential and mixed-use developments. The successful Town Planner will play a key role in shaping planning strategies and supporting projects from concept through to approval. THE ROLE As a Town Planner, you will be involved in managing planning applications, providing strategic advice, and working collaboratively with internal design teams. You will gain exposure to a wide range of projects and have the opportunity to further develop your career as a Town Planner within a supportive and creative environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals * Producing high-quality planning reports, statements, and supporting documents * Providing planning advice to clients and internal teams * Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders * Attending meetings, site visits, and consultations * Supporting project delivery from early-stage design through to determination * Assisting with project coordination and programme management * Contributing to business development and networking activities WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline * MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership * Experience within a planning consultancy, architectural practice, or similar environment * Strong understanding of the UK planning system * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines * A proactive and collaborative approach WHAT'S ON OFFER * Competitive salary and benefits package * Opportunity to work within a design-led, multidisciplinary team * Exposure to a wide range of projects * Support towards Chartership and continued professional development * Clear career progression opportunities Interested?
