Field Service Engineer Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 DOE Location: Field-Based (Regional Travel Required) Contract: Full Time | Permanent Shift Pattern: 4 Days On / 4 Days Off | 12-Hour Shifts Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence We are looking for a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team supporting customers across a regional patch. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working independently, solving technical issues on-site and delivering high levels of customer service. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of IT / network infrastructure equipment, ensuring systems remain operational and customer downtime is kept to a minimum. What You’ll Be Doing Installing, maintaining and repairing IT and network hardware at customer sites Diagnosing faults and carrying out break-fix repairs on equipment and infrastructure Supporting routers, switches, EPOS / IT devices and associated peripherals Installing and terminating network cabling including Cat5e / Cat6 Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and network devices Carrying out planned preventative maintenance visits Responding to service calls and ensuring SLAs are met Providing clear updates, reports and job notes via service systems Delivering excellent customer service on every visit What We’re Looking For Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer / IT Field Engineer / Mobile Engineer Strong experience with: Cisco routers / switches Network connectivity Cat5e / Cat6 cabling IT / EPOS hardware support Ability to fault-find and resolve technical issues independently Comfortable working in a customer-facing environment Good communication and problem-solving skills Full UK driving licence (essential) Desirable (Not Essential) Experience with: Cradlepoint / DrayTek routers Broadband / comms faults Structured cabling Merchant / retail / hospitality environments What’s on Offer £30,000 – £45,000 salary depending on experience 4 on / 4 off shift pattern for better work-life balance Company vehicle / fuel support (if applicable) Overtime opportunities Ongoing training and development Long-term career progression
