Trainee Estimator Location: Finchley, North London Overview: An excellent opportunity for a Trainee Estimator to join a growing construction and building services company based in Finchley. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a career in estimating, with full training provided and clear progression opportunities. You will support the estimating team in preparing accurate costings and tenders for a range of projects, while gaining hands-on experience within a fast-paced commercial environment. Key Responsibilities: * Assist in preparing cost estimates for construction and building projects * Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents * Measure quantities and support take-offs * Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations * Help compile and submit tender packages * Maintain and update project cost databases and records * Support senior estimators with ongoing projects and pricing exercises * Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures and deadlines Skills & Experience: * Strong numerical and analytical skills * Good attention to detail * Confident using Microsoft Excel and basic IT systems * Strong communication and organisational skills * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * A keen interest in construction or building services Desirable (Not Essential): * Previous experience in construction, labouring, or administration * Knowledge of estimating or cost planning * Relevant qualification (e.g. Construction, Quantity Surveying) What’s on Offer: * Full training and development * Clear career progression into Estimator / Quantity Surveyor roles * Supportive team environment * Competitive starting salary * Opportunity to gain industry experience with a growing company
