Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company The Role We are recruiting a Production Controller on behalf of a growing manufacturing organisation. This is a key planning role responsible for coordinating production schedules, materials, and logistics to ensure strong on‑time delivery, lead‑time adherence, and inventory control. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, supply chain, and subcontractors to maintain smooth product flow and maximise plant utilisation. Key Responsibilities Plan and schedule production using finite capacity models, product flow paths, and business plan volumes. Quote accurate lead times for new orders and manage priorities to minimise delays. Operate an effective pull system, utilising safety stock, buffers, and finished goods inventory. Generate and issue production schedules and supporting documentation including work‑to lists, packing lists, export requests, and subcontractor paperwork. Manage arrears and implement burn‑off profiles where required. Liaise with manufacturing teams to ensure transactional accuracy and system compliance. Apply Material Review Planning methodologies to manage external inputs and supplier orders in line with the Master Production Schedule. Coordinate internal and external transport requirements, including export movements, to meet acknowledged delivery dates. Manage customer reschedules through the MPS and provide regular customer status updates. Monitor schedule adherence and escalate risks or delays through formal Production, Planning & Control (P,P&C) processes. Support management of subcontractors using performance metrics and scorecards. Contribute to Rough‑Cut Capacity Planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
