School Caretaker / Site Supervisor - Preston (PR4) Location: Preston, Lancashire (PR4) Pay: Competitive Hourly Rate £14.24 - £16 per hour (Depending on experience) Shift Pattern: Split Shifts (07:30 - 09:30 & 14:00 - 18:00) Contract: Temporary (ASAP start - July 2026) Total Hours: 6 hours per day, Monday - Friday Are you a reliable facilities professional seeking a local Caretaking role in Preston? We are recruiting a dedicated Site Supervisor to support a welcoming PR4 primary school starting ASAP. As the primary "key holder," you will take pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and thriving environment for pupils and staff. Key Responsibilities: Site Security & Maintenance Your role is essential to the smooth running of the school day. Duties include: Site Security: Opening the school promptly at 07:30 and conducting a comprehensive, secure lock-up each evening by 18:00 Health & Safety: Carrying out regular compliance checks, completing safety reports, and overseeing general grounds maintenance Seasonal Care: Ensuring all paths and outdoor areas are safe and clear for staff and pupils, managing site safety in all weather conditions Logistics & Supplies: Supervising deliveries, managing water fountain setups, and monitoring inventory for cleaning materials Team Coordination: Working closely with the cleaning team and tackling minor repairs and maintenance tasks as they arise Requirements & Skills Experience: A solid background as a School Caretaker, Site Supervisor, or in general facilities management is essential Reliability: Punctuality and high levels of responsibility as the designated key holder Practical Ability: A "can-do" approach to minor repairs and a firm grasp of current Health & Safety (H&S) regulations Communication: Professional and friendly manner when interacting with staff, pupils, and visitors Compliance: An enhanced DBS check is required (support provided if not currently on the update service) Why Join Tradewind?
