Production Planning Supervisor

Overview We are looking for a proactive Production Planning Supervisor to support and coordinate planning activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role involves overseeing day-to-day planning operations, supporting planners, and ensuring production schedules are delivered efficiently to meet customer demand. Key Responsibilities * Supervise and support the production planning function on a day-to-day basis * Assist in the creation and maintenance of production schedules in line with demand forecasts * Ensure plans are realistic and aligned with capacity, labour, and material availability * Monitor performance against plan and adjust schedules to minimise disruption * Act as a key link between production, procurement, warehouse, and engineering teams * Support the resolution of planning issues such as shortages, delays, or capacity constraints * Review stock levels and help maintain optimal inventory and service levels * Ensure accurate data is maintained within ERP/MRP systems * Produce and review planning reports and KPIs * Support continuous improvement initiatives within the planning process Key Skills & Experience * Experience in production planning, scheduling, or a similar manufacturing role * Some experience supervising or mentoring others (direct or indirect) * Good understanding of manufacturing processes and constraints * Strong organisational and problem-solving skills * Competent in Excel and familiar with ERP/MRP systems * Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments Desirable * Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing * Understanding of capacity planning and forecasting * Awareness of supply chain and inventory management principles Personal Attributes * Detail-oriented with strong planning skills * Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities * Team-focused with a collaborative approach * Proactive and solutions-driven mindset
