I’m currently working on behalf of a growing compliance consultancy that is expanding its fire risk assessment offering and looking to appoint an experienced Senior Fire Risk Assessor. This is a senior opportunity for someone who wants more than day-to-day assessments — the successful candidate will have the chance to lead, influence standards, and help build a fire risk assessment team within a growing business. The Role In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality fire risk assessments across the residential sector while supporting the development and management of a growing assessor team. Key responsibilities include: Completing fire risk assessments in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 Producing clear, compliant, and well-structured fire risk assessment reports Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior and trainee assessors Supporting the recruitment, development, and performance management of assessors Liaising with clients, managing expectations, and providing practical, proportionate fire safety advice Supporting internal quality assurance, auditing, and continuous improvement processes Keeping up to date with changes in fire safety legislation, standards, and best practice The Ideal Candidate I’m looking to speak with candidates who can demonstrate: Proven experience as a Fire Risk Assessor within the residential sector Experience covering low- to high-rise residential buildings A recognised fire risk assessment qualification, with a minimum Tier 3 status on a recognised register Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation and guidance Experience mentoring others, or a clear ambition to progress into a leadership role Excellent written and verbal communication skills A professional, pragmatic, and client-focused approach What’s on Offer This position offers: £45,000 – £60,000 salary, depending on experience A genuine opportunity to lead and grow a fire risk assessment team Clear career progression within a rapidly expanding business Pension scheme Healthcare scheme Company vehicle or car allowance (where applicable) 22 days annual leave + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown Ongoing training, CPD, and professional development suppo
