Finance Manager – St Austell – Permanent πŸ’Ό Salary: Β£40,000 – Β£45,000 + Benefits πŸ“ Location: St Austell, Cornwall πŸ•’ Hours: Full time πŸ“… Start: ASAP Are you an experienced transactional finance professional looking for a role where you can lead, influence and drive high-quality financial operations? Our client, a successful and fast-growing organisation, is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee all day-to-day financial processing activities while managing a team of approximately 5–6 people. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong AP, AR, cash management and compliance experience who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment. You will play a key part in safeguarding cash, maintaining robust controls, and ensuring accurate, timely processing across the group. What You’ll Be Doing βœ” Overseeing supplier onboarding, invoice processing, approvals and weekly payment runs βœ” Ensuring AP ledger accuracy including reconciliations, aged payables and debit balance clearance βœ” Leading customer onboarding, credit checks, billing, disputes and collections activity βœ” Driving AR performance including DSO reduction, dunning cycles, and credit management βœ” Managing daily cash positioning, multi-currency bank reconciliations and payment file preparation βœ” Maintaining bank mandates, user access and segregation of duties βœ” Processing FX transactions, reconciliations, month-end revaluations and supporting hedge management βœ” Managing card receipts, chargebacks, direct debit runs and online payment gateways βœ” Overseeing intercompany recharges, settlements and documentation βœ” Supporting Payroll Manager with cross-cover when required βœ” Embedding and maintaining a strong financial control framework βœ” Ensuring UK VAT compliance, correct coding and support with returns and reconciliations βœ” Supporting internal/external audits with samples, narratives and remediation activities βœ” Delivering accurate month-end close packs including AP accruals, GRNI, AR cut-off and cash recs βœ” Owning and maintaining department policies, SOPs and GDPR-compliant data management βœ” Leading the operation of finance systems (Sage, Paperless and others) βœ” Driving automation and reducing manual journal reliance βœ” Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing transactional finance team (5–6 people) βœ” Working cross-functionally to ensure compliance, accuracy and problem prevention βœ” Developing and reporting on transactional finance KPIs to drive performance What We’re Looking For πŸ’‘ Proven experience within financial processing and transactional finance πŸ’‘ Experience managing and developing a transactional finance team (ideally 5–6 staff) πŸ’‘ Strong knowledge across AP, AR/credit control, cash management and payments πŸ’‘ Experience with FX processing, reconciliations and financial controls πŸ’‘ Solid understanding of VAT, tax compliance and UK regulatory frameworks πŸ’‘ Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail πŸ’‘ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment πŸ’‘ High levels of professionalism, integrity and discretion πŸ’‘ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Why You’ll Love This Role βœ” Β£40,000 – Β£45,000 salary βœ” Company pension βœ” Free parking βœ” On-site parking βœ” Opportunity to lead and shape a key finance function βœ” High degree of autonomy and influence over process improvement βœ” Varied workload across AP, AR, cash, FX and controls βœ” Supportive environment with a focus on continuous improvement βœ” Scope for long-term progression within finance leadership πŸ“© Apply now for a confidential conversation about this Finance Manager opportunity in St Austell.
