The main purpose of this role will be: * To ensure all TIG Welding projects are completed in conformance with specifications and set time scales. * Fabrication and welding of components and sub-assemblies as required in line with planned manufacturing operations to defined quality standards and timescales. * Complete projects in accordance with planned schedules aligning fabrication and welding workload with machine shop operations. * Quality Control evaluations. Set up and running of leak checking operations using mass spectrometry equipment, (helium leak detectors) on all chamber vessels. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE * Knowledge or experience of welding and fabrication processes would be beneficial * Qualified to BTech/HNC/HND level in a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing discipline. * TIG Welding. (Ideally working with stainless steel & Mu metal). * Established skillset in metal fabrication and welding including the use of precision measuring equipment. * Able to read specified drawings. * Comfortable working to deadlines set by lead technician. * Basic knowledge of turning would be an advantage. * Follow all health and safety regulations and seek to maintain and improve these standards.
