Mechanic


We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and skilled Mechanic to join a well-established, family-run automotive business based in Wellington, offering a competitive salary dependent on experience, of up to £45,000. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday, workshop-based position and presents an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly, supportive, and professional team. This is a varied and hands-on role where you will play a key part in maintaining the high standards of workmanship and customer service the business is known for. Working within a close-knit team, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics across multiple makes and models. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to delivering high-quality results. You will be expected to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy, ensuring all vehicles are serviced and repaired to the highest standards. As part of your role, you will also support the wider team, sharing knowledge and assisting with the development of junior technicians and apprentices. The business places a strong emphasis on teamwork, continuous improvement, and staying up to date with the latest automotive technologies. Key Duties: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models Conduct vehicle diagnostics using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment Carry out MOT tests and ensure vehicles meet legal standards Provide accurate and detailed reports on work carried out and any additional work required Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations Stay updated with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques Mentor and assist less experienced technicians and apprentices The Successful Candidate Will Have: A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician in a professional garage environment NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent) Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Experience using a wide range of tools and diagnostic equipment Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team A proactive, reliable, and positive approach to work A full UK driving licence This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, family-run business where your skills and experience will be valued, with genuine opportunities for ongoing development and career progression within a supportive environment.
