Estimators (at all levels) - Rail, Infrastructure, Energy, Defence RHA Recruitment is partnering with leading consultancies and contractors across the UK infrastructure sector to appoint Estimators at various levels. These roles sit within high‑performing commercial and project controls teams supporting major programmes in rail, highways, utilities, energy, water, and wider civil engineering. Whether you’re early in your estimating career or already operating at senior level, we’re working with organisations that offer structured progression, exposure to flagship projects, and long‑term career development. Duties will include, but not limited to:- * Develop cost estimates across project stages including feasibility, outline design, detailed design, and procurement. * Analyse drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to understand scope and cost drivers. * Prepare Bills of Quantities, cost plans, and pricing schedules. * Support risk and value management activities, including cost risk quantification. * Engage with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to gather market intelligence and validate pricing. * Maintain and update cost databases, benchmarking information, and estimating tools. * Contribute to tender submissions, commercial reports, and client presentations. * Ensure estimates comply with client governance, industry standards, and internal quality processes. Role Levels Estimator / Intermediate Estimator You bring: * Typically 3–7 years’ experience in estimating or cost engineering. * Strong understanding of infrastructure delivery and cost drivers. * Proficiency with estimating tools (CostX, CANDY, CESMM, RIB, etc.). * Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently. Senior Estimator A leadership role for experienced professionals supporting major programmes. Duties include:- * Lead multi‑disciplinary estimates for large, complex infrastructure projects. * Provide expert commercial insight to clients and project teams. * Develop estimating methodologies, templates, and governance frameworks. * Oversee risk modelling, scenario analysis, and cost assurance. * Mentor junior staff and support capability development. * Contribute to business development and client engagement. You bring: * 7+ years’ experience in estimating within infrastructure sectors. * Proven track record delivering estimates for major projects. * Strong commercial acumen and understanding of procurement routes. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. * Professional accreditation (RICS, ACostE, ICE) desirable.
