Building Surveyor (Condition Surveys) – Exeter Salary: Up to £45,959 (DOE) Hours: 37 per week (Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:00) Working Pattern: Hybrid / Flexible A leading property consultancy is looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join its Exeter-based team, specialising in condition surveys and asset management across a diverse property portfolio. The Role You will play a key role in delivering condition surveys and providing clients with the insight needed to prioritise maintenance, secure funding, and manage assets effectively. Key responsibilities include: * Carrying out detailed condition surveys across a wide range of property types including commercial buildings, schools, estates, and rural assets * Undertaking asbestos compliance checks on known ACMs (non-intrusive) * Preparing schedules of condition, dilapidations, and planned maintenance programmes * Producing clear, concise technical reports and recommendations * Working in line with RICS guidance on building surveys and technical due diligence * Managing your own workload, site visits, and survey programmes with a high degree of autonomy * Liaising with clients and stakeholders to provide professional advice and solutions Requirements * Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) * Working towards RICS Chartership (APC support available) * Minimum 3 years’ experience in building condition surveying (commercial assets preferred) * Knowledge of building regulations, health & safety, and relevant legislation * P402 asbestos qualification (or willingness to obtain) * Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills * Ability to work independently and within a team * Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer * 25 days annual leave + bank holidays * Company pension and sickness scheme * Funded professional fees * Structured APC / chartership support * Hybrid and flexible working arrangements * Ongoing training and career development * Access to company benefits and discounts
