Assistant Engineering Manager Location: Redcar Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per annum The Role of the Assistant Engineering Manager We are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Engineering Manager to support the day-to-day running of a busy bus depot in Redcar. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior PSV/HGV Technician or Engineering Supervisor looking to step up into management, or an existing Assistant Manager seeking a new challenge. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and reliability, while supporting the Engineering Manager in delivering operational excellence.   Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Engineering Manager Support the Engineering Manager in overseeing depot engineering operations Supervise and lead a team of PSV/HGV Technicians and Engineers Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations and company policies Plan and allocate maintenance, servicing, and repair work Monitor fleet availability, reliability, and workshop productivity Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance documentation Support recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff Ensure all health & safety procedures are always followed Work closely with Operations to support service delivery  What We’re Looking For from the Assistant Engineering Manager NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Experience within a bus, coach, or HGV environment Previous supervisory or team leader experience Strong knowledge of DVSA standards and compliance Good organisational and leadership skills A hands-on, proactive approach  If you’re ready to take the next step in your engineering career and apply for Assistant Engineering Manager, we’d love to hear from you
