Accelerate Personnel are currently recruiting for an exciting new job role for our client who are seeking a Transport Manager to join their team. Responsibilities for this role will involve overseeing all transport operations to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods, while consistently delivering a high standard of customer service. Key Responsibilities: 1. Vehicle Management & Equipment • Coordinate and supervise daily vehicle inspections • Plan and manage routine maintenance, servicing, and MOT schedules • Respond to and resolve vehicle breakdowns and repair requirements • Procure and maintain driver tools and operational equipment • Manage fuel cards, vehicle tracking systems, and AdBlue stock levels • Oversee regular vehicle cleaning and upkeep 2. Delivery & Transport Processes • Analyse and monitor delivery costs to ensure efficiency • Review and optimise delivery methods and operational processes 3. Team Leadership & People Management • Lead and manage the delivery and logistics office teams • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews • Manage staff scheduling, holidays, and absences • Deliver on-the-job training and monitor performance standards • Ensure compliance checks are completed (e.g. DBS where required) • Provide out-of-hours support for driver queries when necessary • Recruit, on board, coach, and motivate team members • Coordinate agency drivers and porters as required 4. Project Management (Large-Scale Deliveries) • Plan and deliver end-to-end logistics for complex delivery and installation projects • Prepare and brief delivery teams ahead of project execution • Attend sites as required to oversee project initiation and delivery • Act as the primary point of contact for subcontractors and clients • Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets • Conduct final quality checks to ensure successful completion • Develop detailed project plans covering delivery and installation phases 5. Daily Delivery Operations • Supervise drivers and monitor delivery routes in real time • Maintain clear communication with drivers and customers regarding updates or issues • Ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded • Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation effectively • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies • Continuously improve delivery methods and processes 6.
