Job Title: Night Shift Civil Supervisor (Landfall HDD Onshore) Location: Peterhead Contract Type: Outside IR35 Duration: Up to 6 Months (ASAP Start) Rotation: 13 Days On, 1 Day Off Shift Pattern: 12-Hour Shifts (Night Shift) Company: Spencer Ogden About the Role Spencer Ogden is seeking an experienced Night Shift Civil Supervisor to support landfall and HDD onshore activities on a major UK infrastructure project. This role will focus on supervising night shift civil and cabling works, ensuring delivery is aligned with project specifications and the highest safety standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise civil and HDD works during night shifts Oversee cabling activities, including trenching, ducting, and installation Enforce compliance with HSE plans, CPP, ERP, RAMS, and ITPs Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure efficient workflow Manage interfaces between multiple contractors on site Conduct regular inspections and ensure all safety controls are implemented Verify workforce competency and ensure adherence to site procedures Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and safely operated Promote and lead a strong safety-first culture Report progress, issues, and lessons learned to project management Scope of Works Includes Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Trenching, duct installation, and backfilling Land cable installation and joint bay excavation Site preparation and enabling works Landfall civil works and cable installation Requirements Experience & Qualifications: Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Civil Supervisor or Site Manager Strong experience in HDD and civil works on infrastructure projects Experience in power or telecom cable installation projects preferred Proven ability to manage subcontractors and review technical documentation (RAMS, ITPs) Experience coordinating multiple contractors within a live site Technical Knowledge: Health and Safety at Work Act CDM Regulations 2015 Temporary Works (BS 5975) National Grid or SSEN standards (desirable) Certifications (Required): SMSTS (minimum SSSTS) CSCS Card Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or Supervisor (TWS)
