SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Primary) Location – Manchester Pay: £12.71 to £14.00 per hour - Depending on experience Contract: Temporary Working Pattern: Flexible opportunities including day-to-day, short-term and long-term assignments We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Primary School aged pupil. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child’s educational journey while gaining valuable experience within a supportive school environment. The Role As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting a pupil with additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, build confidence, and thrive both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities * Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs * Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning materials and activities * Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and academic development * Encourage positive behaviour and assist with behaviour management strategies where needed * Help maintain a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment About You We are looking for someone who is: * Experienced in working with children or young people, ideally within a school or SEN setting * Knowledgeable or willing to learn about supporting pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties * Patient, empathetic, and proactive in their approach * A strong communicator who works well as part of a team * In possession of a DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one What’s on Offer * Competitive daily rates, paid weekly – PAYE * Flexible working to suit your availability * Ongoing support from a dedicated recruitment consultant * Opportunity for a permanent position after a successful 12-week temporary period This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a lasting impact during a crucial stage of their primary education.
