Job Title: IMS Governance and Assurance Manager Contract Type: Contract (Inside IR35) Location: London, Bristol, or Suffolk (Hybrid working available, with regular travel to other UK offices) Closing Date: 14th April 2026 Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a major UK infrastructure megaproject at the forefront of the nation's energy transition and Net Zero ambitions. This large-scale nuclear new build programme represents one of the most significant and complex engineering projects in Europe, offering the chance to contribute to a critical part of the UK's long-term energy strategy. The Role Reporting to the Head of Nuclear Compliance, Audit and Performance Improvement, the IMS Governance and Assurance Manager will play a key leadership role within the Safety, Security & Assurance function. You will bring deep expertise in Quality Assurance and Integrated Management Systems (IMS), ensuring robust governance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organisation. Operating within the "3 Lines of Defence" framework, you will lead assurance activities, influence senior stakeholders, and support regulatory alignment. This is a high-impact role requiring strong leadership, independence, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Define and implement processes and procedures for IMS audits and assurance activities Lead delivery of the Integrated Assurance Programme and support development of the Integrated Assurance Plan Ensure a structured, effective, and continuously improving Integrated Management System Manage IMS team resources, including oversight of outputs and performance Act as the primary interface with regulatory bodies, ensuring open and effective relationships Oversee audit findings, ensuring timely resolution and closure of actions Monitor QA performance, trends, and report insights to senior forums Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and operational feedback Ensure alignment with international standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, PAS 2080) Support budget planning, resource allocation, and departmental risk management Act as License Condition Manager for LC17 Skills & Experience Essential: Strong leadership and team management experience Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and regulators Extensive experience managing Integrated Management Systems in large, complex organisations Expert knowledge of Quality Systems and standards (ISO 9001, ISO 19443, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, GSR-2/3) Strong communication and presentation skills Experience working within the UK regulatory environment Demonstrable experience engaging with external regulators and stakeholders Degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) Background in the nuclear industry (PWR experience preferred) Desirable: Experience on large-scale infrastructure or megaprojects Knowledge of nuclear safety design and quality management Experience working with regulators in fast-paced, evolving environments Why Apply?
