Lead Theatre Practitioner – Recovery & Anaesthetics Are you an experienced Theatre Practitioner ready to take the next step into a senior leadership role? We’re working closely with a highly respected NHS healthcare organisation to recruit an exceptional Lead Theatre Practitioner – Recovery & Anaesthetics. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic theatre team within a modern, well-established hospital renowned for delivering outstanding perioperative care. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours), offering a flexible shift pattern to support service needs while accommodating a strong work‑life balance. The Role As the Lead Theatre Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compassionate delivery of care across the perioperative journey. Your responsibilities will include: * Leading high‑quality patient‑centred care across Recovery & Anaesthetics, acting as a clinical expert and role model. * Ensuring all patient safety processes—including WHO checklists—are completed to the highest standards. * Providing day‑to‑day supervision, mentorship, and support to theatre practitioners, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement. * Overseeing competency development within the team and supporting ongoing CPD initiatives. * Acting as a strong patient advocate, ensuring safety, dignity, and safeguarding standards are consistently upheld. About You To be successful, you will bring: * NMC or HCPC registration * Significant experience within a theatre environment, specifically Recovery & Anaesthetics * Demonstrable leadership capability with the ability to inspire and develop others * Strong knowledge of patient safety, infection control, safeguarding, and clinical governance * Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification (for scrub leads) * ENB 998/mentorship certification and a recognised anaesthetic course If you’re passionate about leading from the front and shaping excellence within perioperative care, we want to hear from you.
