National Account Manager


Position: National Account Manager – Chemical Raw Ingredients Location: Stockport Salary: £Negotiable depending on experience The Company: Chemical Distributor The Role: • Looking for a commercially driven National Account Manager to manage and grow key accounts while identifying new business opportunities across the UK and Europe. • This is a dynamic role combining account management and business development, suited to someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to customer engagement. • Manage and develop relationships with key national accounts • Identify and win new business opportunities within target markets • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements • Attend customer meetings, site visits, and industry exhibitions across the UK & EU • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing movements • Work closely with internal teams (procurement, logistics, operations) to ensure smooth delivery • Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting – SAGE 200 • Regular travel across the UK & Europe (customers, exhibitions) • Occasional visits to suppliers, warehouses, and distribution centres Requirements: • 5–7 years’ experience in Sales/ chemical B2B sales (raw materials) • Strong account management and relationship-building skills • Entrepreneurial mindset with a positive and proactive approach • Proven ability to develop sales strategies and drive revenue growth • Experience managing and mentoring team members • Excellent communication and negotiation skills • Industry knowledge • Training in REACH, ISO, or similar – desirable
