Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer 📍 Bristol (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home) The Opportunity I’m currently working with a growing and design-led building services consultancy looking to appoint a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of a strong and diverse project portfolio across the South West. This is a key hire within a close-knit team, offering genuine influence over project delivery, client relationships, and the future direction of the business. The Role You will take a leading role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services across sectors including commercial, residential, education, and retail. Working closely with senior leadership and clients, you’ll play both a technical and strategic role within the business. Key responsibilities include: Leading mechanical design from concept through to detailed design Delivering HVAC, public health, and low-carbon system solutions Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, and technical reports Managing and coordinating Revit/BIM design outputs Supporting energy modelling and sustainable design strategies Attending and leading client and design team meetings Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development Ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high technical standard Supporting client relationship management and business development Requirements Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering Proven experience within a building services consultancy environment Strong technical capability across mechanical/HVAC design Experience delivering projects across a range of sectors Proficiency with industry tools (e.g. Revit, IES, Hevacomp) Strong communication and client-facing skills Chartered or working towards (CIBSE / IMechE) preferred Package & Benefits Competitive salary (dependent on experience) 30 days holiday + bank holidays Private healthcare Flexible working (3 days office / 2 days home) Mobile phone & laptop Annual salary reviews Why Apply?
