Health & Safety Manager – Battery Storage Project Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35) Start Date: Immediate Overview: H9 Talent Solutions are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the delivery of a battery energy storage (BESS) project within the energy sector. This is a key role responsible for leading all health, safety, and environmental activities on site, ensuring compliance and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all Health & Safety activities across the project Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, CDM Regulations (2015), and company policies Develop, implement, and maintain HSE plans, procedures, and documentation Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments (RAMS) Support and advise project teams, contractors, and subcontractors on best practice Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing HSE training Monitor performance and produce regular HSE reports for stakeholders Promote a proactive safety culture across all project teams Requirements: Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within energy, renewables, or infrastructure projects (BESS experience desirable) Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations Experience working on construction or EPC project environments NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) Chartered or working towards (CMIOSH preferred) Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to operate independently in a site-based environment
