QC Microbiologist Technologist

QC Microbiology Technologist (12-Month Contract) Location: Berkshire Sector: Biopharmaceuticals Overview We are supporting a leading biopharmaceutical organisation based in Berkshire in the search for a QC Microbiology Technologist on a 12-month contract. This role will play a key part in supporting product quality through microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and ensuring compliance with GMP standards. Key Responsibilities * Perform microbiological testing to support product qualifications, routine analysis, and environmental monitoring programmes * Accurately record and document all results in accordance with GMP and cGMP requirements * Review test data, identify any deviations or trends, and escalate concerns to QC Management where appropriate * Maintain high laboratory standards, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and inventory management * Support the qualification of media, reagents, and microbiological methods * Ensure all laboratory activities are conducted in line with relevant health and safety procedures * Maintain up-to-date GMP training and complete all required training within designated timeframes Requirements * Degree (BSc or equivalent) in a Life Sciences discipline or relevant industry experience * Hands-on experience with microbiological techniques within a regulated environment * Strong understanding of Good Documentation Practice (GDP) * Ability to interpret data, identify anomalies, and communicate findings effectively * Experience with routine laboratory maintenance and stock/inventory control * Solid understanding of GMP and laboratory safety standards Desirable * Experience working in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical QC environment * Familiarity with environmental monitoring programmes
