Teaching Assistant

A welcoming primary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP). This specialist unit supports pupils with autism, ADHD, and associated challenging behaviours. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and develop key social, emotional, and communication skills. The Role: * Provide support to pupils within the ARP, both 1:1 and in small groups * Assist children with autism and ADHD in managing behaviour and engaging with learning * Support the development of communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills * Help implement individual support strategies and behaviour plans * Work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff to create a structured and supportive environment * Support transitions between activities and promote positive routines The Ideal Candidate: * Experience working with children with additional needs, particularly autism and/or ADHD (in school, care, or similar settings) * Understanding of challenging behaviour and strategies to support it * Calm, patient, and consistent approach * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Passionate about supporting children with additional needs Requirements: * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) * Right to work in the UK * Relevant references
