Job Title: Commercial Gas Engineer Location: Hertfordshire and Surrounding areas Salary: £50,000-£55,000 per annum + Company Van + Fuel Card Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We’re seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our Facilities Management team, covering Hertfordshire and the surrounding area. You’ll be responsible for delivering a mix of reactive maintenance, breakdown response, and planned servicing across a range of commercial client sites, including offices, schools, healthcare facilities, and public buildings. This is a field-based role that requires a proactive approach, technical expertise, and a strong customer focus to maintain safe and efficient building services for our clients. Key Responsibilities * Respond promptly to breakdowns and reactive maintenance calls on commercial gas and heating systems. * Carry out fault diagnosis, repairs, and commissioning of boilers, burners, and associated plant equipment. * Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in line with service schedules. * Perform gas safety inspections and issue the appropriate certification. * Work closely with the helpdesk and site teams to ensure all jobs are completed within agreed SLAs. * Maintain accurate service reports and documentation via mobile device or tablet. * Ensure compliance with Gas Safe and all relevant health & safety regulations. * Deliver a high standard of customer service, representing the company professionally on client sites. Requirements * Valid Gas Safe registration with up-to-date commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, CODNCO1). * Demonstrable experience working in a commercial FM or building services environment. * Strong background in breakdowns, fault-finding, and reactive maintenance. * Full UK driving licence. * Good communication and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Competent in digital job reporting and record keeping.
