Job Title: Technical Sales – Industrial Location: Brighouse, West Yorkshire Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday Start Your Career in Technical Sales with a Market Leader. We’re looking for a driven, hands-on individual to join Millers Oils as a Trainee Technical Sales Engineer within our Industrial Fluid Management team. This is not just a support role. It’s a structured pathway into technical sales and account management. You’ll start by learning the technical and operational side of the business, working on-site with customers, before progressing into a customer facing commercial role within 12 months. If you’re ambitious, practical, and interested in building a career in sales within an engineering/industrial environment, this is a strong opportunity to develop with a well-established and respected brand. What you’ll be doing: Phase 1: Technical & On-Site Development: * Support fluid management services at customer sites (oil handling, sampling, topping up, housekeeping) * Work alongside experienced engineers and technicians during service visits * Learn how industrial environments operate and how our services support customers * Prepare equipment, materials, and service documentation * Maintain safe, clean, and organised working practices Phase 2: Customer & Commercial Development: * Build relationships with customer contacts on-site * Learn how to identify opportunities for additional products and services * Support the sales team with account development activities * Begin converting opportunities into sales with guidance * Update CRM systems and track customer interactions What We’re Looking for: Essential: * Strong interest in developing a career in technical sales * Confident communicator with a professional approach to customers * Hands-on, practical mindset and willingness to work in industrial environments * Motivated, reliable, and eager to learn * Full UK driving licence Desirable (but not essential): * Experience in engineering, manufacturing, field service, or industrial environments * Previous customer-facing or sales experience * Basic mechanical or technical understanding Who This Role Is Ideal For * Someone early in their career looking to move into technical sales * A junior engineer/technician who enjoys working with people and wants a commercial career * A practical, hands-on individual who doesn’t want a purely office-based role * Someone ambitious and motivated by progression and earning potential Progression Pathway * Months 0–6: Hands-on technical training + on-site experience * Months 6–12: Transition into technical sales responsibilities * Beyond 12 months: Development into Technical Sales / Account Management Depending on skills and experience these time frames could be subject to change. Candidates who already posses the required skill set will be fast tracked to the sales aspects of the role.
