Lead Engineer

Lead Engineer Altera Recruitment Group is partnering with a pioneering Clean-Tech scale-up that is rethinking how advanced materials are manufactured and reused. Their technology is already running at pilot scale. The first full production system is now being built. They need a Lead Engineer who wants more than just another project. This is a chance as the Lead Engineer to take real ownership of a flagship industrial machine and play a defining role in scaling breakthrough sustainable technology into commercial reality. You will not be another cog in a large corporate structure. You will be the person who makes it work. What makes this different * Taking full technical ownership of a large scale production machine from concept to commissioning. * Transform a proven pilot into industrial output across aerospace, automotive and renewables markets. * You will shape how engineering is done as the company grows, with a clear path to building and leading your own team. * Working across mechanical, electrical and process systems in a genuinely multidisciplinary environment. * You will see the direct impact of your work on sustainability, cost reduction and manufacturing efficiency. Who this suits * An all round Lead Engineer with 8+ years in special purpose or process machinery. * Someone comfortable designing, specifying, integrating and getting hands on when needed. * An engineer who enjoys autonomy and thrives where decisions matter. * A technically broad individual with mechanical depth and electrical or controls exposure. * Someone motivated by building something long term, not just maintaining what already exists. What you'll receive: * A salary of £60,000-£80,000 depending on experience. * Discretionary company bonus up to 15% * 28 days holiday + bank holidays * Flexible/hybrid working.
