Azure -Data Solution Designer

Position: Azure -Data Solution Designer Location: London, UK (Hybrid-2/3 days from office) 6 months contract position The Role Data Solution Designer – Enterprise Data Platforms Role Purpose: The Data Solution Designer is responsible for the end‑to‑end design of enterprise data solutions and platforms. The role owns architectural patterns, metadata frameworks, lineage models, and overall solution design, while remaining technically hands‑on enough to ensure designs are executable on Databricks. Key Responsibilities: * Design enterprise-scale data solutions, including metadata-driven processing, lineage models, and control frameworks * Define logical and physical data architectures across Raw, Generic, and Business layers * Own and evolve data platform frameworks, standards, and architectural patterns * Provide technical leadership and design guidance across multiple Agile delivery squads * Design and support Databricks workflows, including orchestration and troubleshooting * Contribute to and review Python-based framework code where required * Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards Core Accountabilities * Translate business requirements into scalable data solution designs * Define data modelling standards, governance rules, and architectural constraints * Design metadata structures and configuration-driven frameworks * Lead platform-level design decisions and technical direction * Create workflow orchestration patterns within Databricks Skills & Experience Required * Strong experience in Azure data platforms and associated services * Proven expertise in Databricks (design, workflows, optimisation) * Solid understanding of data architecture principles (data modelling, lineage, metadata) * Experience designing enterprise data platforms and frameworks * Hands-on experience with Python and Spark (PySpark preferred) * Experience working in Agile environments with distributed teams * Strong problem-solving and solution design capabilities * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Nice to Have * Experience with metadata-driven architectures * Exposure to data governance and data quality frameworks * Prior experience in large-scale enterprise environments
