Senior Planning Consultant

We are seeking a Senior / Principal Planning Consultant for a role based in an environmental consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise on a diverse range of projects across the minerals, waste and environmental sectors. Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide technical support to the Technical Director of Planning. * Lead and contribute to a range of planning and environmental projects. * Effectively manage all stages of project delivery including management of internal and external technical specialists. * Management of multiple projects simultaneously. * Provide clear, practical advice to clients and colleagues on UK planning policy and environmental legislation. * Manage and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and the preparation of Environmental Statements. * Oversee the delivery of planning and Development Consent Order (DCO) applications. * Liaise effectively with clients, regulators and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes. * Support the development of new business opportunities and help strengthen client relationships. Candidate Specification * Previous experience in minerals and waste planning. * Excellent knowledge of relevant Planning legislation. * Experience in renewable energy projects would be an advantage. * Excellent report writing and communication skills. * Computer literacy and adaptability to new technologies. * Confident in managing projects, budgets and people, with a focus on delivering results. Qualifications * Degree BSc in planning or a related subject. * Membership of a professional body such as the RTPI, CIWM or ISEP. * Full UK driving licence.
