HGV Fitter * Middlesbrough * £40,400 a year (£18.50ph for 42 hours a week) * Paid overtime available * Dayshift Monday to Friday * Ongoing contract role; view to a permanent staff position A skilled HGV Fitter is wanted to join a leading employer on Teesside, where you'll play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet and ensuring our operations run smoothly. What You'll Bring to the Team: * Proven experience as an HGV Fitter, with a strong understanding of HGV mechanics and diagnostics. * Recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline like HGV Maintenance, Motor Mechanics etc * Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of HGV systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and hydraulics. * Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot faults effectively. * A knack for finding creative solutions to complex mechanical challenges. * A positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues. * A valid HGV license is preferred but not essential. What You'll Be Doing: * Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a variety of HGV vehicles. From engines and transmissions to brakes and suspension, you'll tackle it all. * Performing routine maintenance checks and services to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal vehicle performance. * Identifying and troubleshooting complex faults, getting vehicles back on the road quickly and efficiently. * Conducting thorough inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and comply with regulations. * Working with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are available for repairs and maintenance. * Maintaining accurate records of all work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
