Teaching Assistant

About the Role Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in a range of secondary schools across Hastings. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential in the classroom. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students aged 11–16, assisting with lessons, behaviour management, and providing additional support where needed. Key Responsibilities Support teachers during lessons and classroom activities Provide 1:1 or small group support to students Help students stay engaged and focused on their learning Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where required Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers Requirements Experience working with young people, education, or childcare is desirable Strong communication and interpersonal skills A patient, positive, and supportive attitude Ability to work as part of a team An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) A genuine interest in supporting students in education What We Offer Competitive pay rates Flexible working opportunities Access to free CPD training courses Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant Opportunities for long-term and permanent placements All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
