Position Overview To develop real-time safety-critical embedded software, to execute within a commercial vehicle Electronic Control Unit, controlling the fuel injection equipment and powertrain. Key Responsibilities * Plan, execute, and evaluate system performance measurements on electrical benches, engine dynamometers, performance rigs, vehicles, and climate chambers * Develop and define validation tests for electrical bench, engine, and vehicle applications * Develop MATLAB scripts and tools for data analysis and processing * Design and support control algorithms and strategies using MATLAB/Simulink to meet system performance requirements * Calibrate control functions, sensor interfaces, and diagnostic strategies * Develop calibration guidelines for internal teams and customers * Support system and hardware FMEA activities * Provide technical expertise for investigations and root cause analysis * Offer guidance and technical support to systems engineers and cross-functional teams * Provide on-site or off-site customer support as required What we are looking for * Strong experience in engine and vehicle data analysis and processing * In-depth knowledge of internal combustion engines (Diesel) and fuel injection systems * Experience within an embedded automotive environment * Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and scripting/tool development * Strong understanding of calibration processes and toolchains such as: ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, CANape, AVL CRETA * Experience with CCP calibration tools * Experience testing on bench, engine, and vehicle platforms * Knowledge of Control Functions, Sensors and Actuators (analogue, digital, H-Bridge, CAN-based, SENT) * Understanding of C code, ASCII, and hexadecimal * Experience with CAN tools (e.g., CANalyzer) * Awareness of ISO 26262 * Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience * Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., ClearCase or similar) * Familiarity with activity management tools (e.g., ClearQuest, Jira) * Experience working for a Tier 1 automotive supplier (preferred) * HND or a degree in an Engineering discipline * Minimum 6 years’ experience in Systems Engineering and/or Calibration * Strong attention to detail * Committed to treating colleagues with respect and supporting Equality & Diversity principles What we offer We provide compensation and benefits programs intended to attract, motivate, reward, and retain an incredibly talented, globally diverse workforce at all levels within our organization. 25 days annual holiday + Bank Holidays Working hours – 37 Hours Per Week Subsidised canteen Dental plan On-site parking On-site Gym £10 per Month Staff discount with selected retailers Pension Scheme – Salary Sacrificed EAP programme (Health Assured) Death in Service benefit – 4x Annual Salary AXA Private Medical Cover (Sole Only) Visa Sponsorship PHINIA does provide sponsorship for employment visa status based on business need.
