CNC Machinist Location: Ampthill Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 Contract: Permanent Hours: 37.5hrs Pattern: 4x Flex (Mon–Thu) The Opportunity – CNC Machinist An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a high-precision machining environment supporting advanced defence programmes. The CNC Machinist will work on complex R&D, one-off and low-volume components using advanced multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines. CNC Machinist Responsibilities: * Program, set, prove out, and operate 3–6 axis CNC milling and turning machines producing precision components for R&D and low-volume production. * Select and optimise cutting tools, machining strategies, and fixtures to ensure efficient and high-quality machining performance. * Manufacture high-value precision components to strict engineering drawings and defence programme specifications. CNC Machinist Experience: * Proven experience within a precision CNC machining environment. * Strong CNC milling experience (essential) with CNC turning highly desirable. * Experience programming using Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain control systems. * Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as EdgeCAM, MasterCAM, Fusion 360 or similar. * Experience with multi-axis machining (3–5 axis) and precision inspection equipment. * Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and process documentation
