Materials Scientist

Materials Scientist – Fully On site – Bristol - £40k – £80k Hexwired is recruiting for a world-class advanced engineering and research organisation based in Bristol that is looking to hire a Materials Scientist to support the development of ceramic matrix materials and ceramic matrix composites for aerospace and high-performance applications. The role will focus heavily on ceramic matrix technologies within an advanced R&D environment. The organisation is a leader in advanced manufacturing and materials innovation, working with major aerospace and defence partners. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their team. The role is fully onsite in Bristol (5 days per week). As a Materials Scientist, you will develop and analyse ceramic matrix materials and composites within an R&D team. Candidates must be sole British nationals eligible for DV clearance. Key Skills * Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering or a similar discipline (BEng minimum, MEng preferred, PhD advantageous) * Experience working with ceramic matrix materials or ceramic matrix composites, either through academic research or industry experience * Knowledge of materials characterisation, testing and analysis techniques * Understanding of materials processing, advanced manufacturing or composite materials * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills within an R&D environment * Must be eligible for DV security clearance The company can offer £40k – £80k depending on experience, along with an excellent benefits package and the opportunity to work on advanced ceramic matrix and ceramic matrix composite projects within a collaborative R&D environment.
