Mechanical Estimator

At Dornan we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator to work as part of the Estimation team in Cork or Dublin.  Your day to day will include: To prepare and submit detailed mechanical estimates and tenders within agreed deadlines To produce fast, accurate, competitive and profitable mechanical estimates from enquiry through to bid submission To review mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules to determine scope, quantities, and pricing requirements To analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring accuracy and clarity of inclusions and exclusions To liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing To support value engineering and cost optimisation exercises where appropriate To assist with post-tender clarifications and attend tender and follow-up meetings when required To collaborate with estimating, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure all mechanical aspects of the tender are fully considered To communicate estimating data clearly, identifying risks, assumptions, and opportunities for both technical and non-technical stakeholders What we are looking for: Solid knowledge of mechanical estimating practices Strong commercial awareness and understanding of cost drivers Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Highly organised with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines Self-motivated, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development Proven experience estimating mechanical services on commercial and/or large-scale projects #LI-DO1
