Production Planner

Are you a calm-headed Planning professional who thrives when the pace is fast and the stakes are high? The Oval Partnership is supporting a fast-paced manufacturing business to recruit a 12 month maternity cover contract working on a 4 on 4 off days-based shift pattern. Part of a team of planners and supply chain specialists, this is a critical role in a complex, high-volume environment where you’ll be responsible for ensuring the planning of products to reach the shelves of major retailers exactly when they need to. Production Planner responsibilities include: * Daily Execution: Creating and adjusting production plans for high-volume lines to meet strict retail deadlines. * Weekly Planning: Formulation of a weekly production forecast to inform material ordering, ensuring accurate stock levels but minimising waste. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working as the "bridge" between Forecasting, Materials Planning, NPD and the Production floor to ensure 100% service levels. * Problem Solving: Rapidly pivoting plans in response to material shortages, production delays, or fluctuating order volumes. * Data Management: Utilising advanced Excel functions to track performance and optimise scheduling efficiency. About You * Experienced: You have a proven track record in Production Planning, ideally within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment. * Excel Savvy: You are highly proficient in Excel; you’re comfortable with complex spreadsheets and use data to drive decisions. * Pressure-Tested: You remain calm and logical when production schedules change at short notice * Communicator: You can build strong relationships with cross functionl teams, ensuring everyone is aligned with the daily goal
