Job Role: Purchase ledger clerk Location: Chelmsford Salary: up to £31,000 p.a. Employment type: full-time About the role We’re looking for a detail-focused Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a busy finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in high-volume invoice processing who wants to grow their career in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You’ll play a key role in managing supplier invoices, payments, and records across multiple business divisions. What you’ll be doing * Process purchase invoices and match them to purchase orders or delivery records. * Maintain accurate ledger entries and handle statement reconciliations. * Liaise with internal teams and respond to supplier queries promptly. * Process bacs payments and ensure supplier accounts are up-to-date. * Set up new suppliers and maintain accurate records. * Monitor inboxes, scan and file documents, and assist with ad hoc finance tasks. What we’re looking for * Experience in high-volume invoice processing. * Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. * Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines. * Proactive, confident, and able to work independently or in a team. * Competent in Microsoft office, particularly excel and word.
