Mobile Building Services Engineer (Electrical Bias) Salary: Up to £48,000 per year Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm Contract: Permanent, Full-time Location: Central & Greater London (within the M25) Call-Out Rota: 1 week in 7 (24/7/365 rotational cover) Overtime: Time and a half or double time, plus £150 standby allowance Head Office: Bishop’s Stortford About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mobile Building Services Engineer (Electrical Bias) to support a portfolio of commercial and residential sites across Central and Greater London. This role focuses primarily on electrical maintenance, compliance, and fault resolution, while also providing multi-skilled support across wider building services when required. You will attend multiple sites daily, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with current regulations. Key Responsibilities Planned, reactive, and statutory electrical maintenance Fixed wire testing (EICR), PAT testing, and statutory inspections in line with 18th Edition (BS7671) Maintenance of lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting, fire alarm interfaces, and control systems Fault diagnosis, isolation, and repair Small installation works, upgrades, and modifications Completion of all certification and compliance documentation Responding to electrical emergencies promptly and safely Supporting basic mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks when required Maintaining accurate job records and providing professional client updates Ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations Requirements Essential Qualifications NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (or equivalent) 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent Full UK driving licence Experience Proven experience in electrical maintenance across commercial or residential sites Competence in inspection, testing, fault finding, and repairs Experience with both planned preventative maintenance and reactive callouts Skills & Attributes Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals Clear communication and reporting skills IT literate (mobile devices and job management systems) Able to work independently and as part of a team Professional, reliable, and customer-focused Physically fit and comfortable working at height or in confined spaces Benefits Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays Generous sickness and accident protection Life assurance (2x annual salary) Private GP access 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme Annual eye care reimbursement Reward & recognition schemes Ongoing training and development opportunities Company van, uniform, fuel card, phone, tablet, and equipment provided Company pension Referral scheme To apply, please send a copy of your most updated CV
